Curriculum vitae

I joined the Biostatistics Unit in September 2010 as a scientific coordinator (40%) of the new Master in Biostatistics program of the University of Zurich, which starts in Fall 2011.

Before joining the unit I spent three and a half years (2005-2009) at the US National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, as a postdoc (50%) in the Geophysical Statistics Group and one and a half year (2003-2005) at the Québec Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique in Québec, Canada, as a postdoc in the Chair of Statistical Hydrology. From 2001 to 2003 I worked as a Statistician at the Nestlé research center near Lausanne.

I received my Ph.D. in 2001 on "Estimating Cumulative Distributions by Spline Functions" at EPF Lausanne under the supervision of Prof. Stephan Morgenthaler and my diploma in Mathematics in 1997 at ETH Zurich with a diploma thesis in mathematical finance.

My three sons were born in 2006, 2007 and 2010, they account for the remaining and more turbulent part of my time.
