The exam is written and takes place on June 21st 2012 from 9-11 in Y27H12.
Contents:
Analysis of case-control and cohort studies. The most relevant measures of effect (odds and rate ratios) are introduced, and methods for adjusting for confounders (Mantel-Haenszel, regression) are thoroughly discussed. Advanced topics such as measurement error and propensity score adjustments are also covered. We will outline statistical methods for case-crossover and case series studies and finally describe methods to analyse registry data, including relative survival techniques.
Exercises:
- New exercises will be distributed every week at the latest on Fridays for the exercise session of the Wednesday of the following week. Throughout the semester, two out of three announced worksheets will be collected and corrected. Although the solutions do not have to be completely correct, an attempt must be made to answer all questions.
- Additionally, each student must at least once present the solution of an exercise on the blackboard.
